Introducing Ourselves
If you’re reading this post, you’re wondering who we are and what’s our story. So let’s start!
In 2009, WeVeel® launched its first brand, Scentos® - combining fun coloring activities, awesome scents, and quirky characters with kids art and creative expression. We started with just a single scented marker, and now we’ve created multiple new brands and hundreds of scented products for kids and adults alike, selling in over 26 countries and counting. Our products and scents are designed right here in picturesque Bucks County PA, right in the USA, by a small team of creatives, makers, and parents looking to make the best products we can make... for your families and ours.
In 2021, our organization gained a new CEO, Valerie Marderosian, who brought with her decades of experience, contacts, and a heart that any of her company coworkers will tell you is bigger and more open than any leader with whom we’ve served. She brought with her her big ideas, her extensive experience and wisdom, and her determination to have our organization be a bigger, better, best-selves version of who we strive to be.
Along with her experience, Valerie brought contacts and connections - one of them being a lifelong friend and member of the Board of Directors for the Bridge School, the renowned educational organization in California. If you don’t know their origin story, it’s worth a read - learn about them here, or here.
When these friends reconnected, we were posted with the challenge: Can we, as a company dedicated to creativity and self-expression, come to the aid of individuals with needs not met by the “standard” specs of tools and art supplies? We talked about it. We did an exploration of “what will this take”.
We decided: Yes, this needs to happen. Absolutely. To use the incredibly universal words of John Lewis:
If not us, then who?
If not now, then when?
So fast forward a year of research, discussion, video conferences across continents, prototyping, problem solving, shipping, testing, re-prototyping, challenges, questions, costs, and manufacturing and supply chain processes - everything it takes to bring a new product line into the world.
We come to now, and the sprint not to the Finish, but the real Start Line - getting the tools in the hands of those that need them most. That’s the challenge, and the adventure we’re set out on. Please join us for the next steps.
